Date.

Last week we had the 20th X-IFU Consortium meeting at IRAP in an hybrid format. A very successful gathering, in part to celebrate the success of the ESA led intermediate review of newAthena, indicating that we are on track for the planned mission adoption in 2027. On-going technology demonstration activities were extensively presented during the meeting. The meeting gathered around 140 attendees at the peak.

The paper describing the X-ray Integral Field Unit at the end of the Athena reformulation phase published in Experimental Astronomy!

From July 2023 to November 2023, the Athena mission and its instruments underwent a reformulation phase. This led to a modification of certain X-IFU performances, detailed in the new scientific reference publication on the instrument. The publication has just been published in Experimental Astronomy.
