A key design point on the 4K Core demonstration model was held on April 30 at CNES. The main objective was to present the demonstrator\u2019s preliminary design, development plan and test plan, and to check the demonstrator\u2019s compatibility with the recently delivered test cryostat (SVOL). The meeting enabled discussions of the technological challenges of the system. The review board highlighted the quality of the technical dossier presented by an excellent project team.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the X-IFU 4K Core demonstration model is to prepare for future development of the engineering and flight models of the X-IFU 4K Core, and to enhance the teams\u2019 skills in design, integration and testing. At this key design point, the demonstrator was presented to a group of CNES experts, external to the project team, to gather their opinions and recommendations on its implementation. A critical design review (CDR) will be held at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n
